Peter Mafany Musonge, former Prime Minister has resigned as senator.

Musonge handed his resignation letter to the President of Senate, in order to concentrate on the newly created National Commission for the promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism in which he is serving as pioneer president.

Musonge’s resignation was announced by Marcel Niat Njifenji, during a plenary session of the senate on Wednesday, July 5.

The 75 years old was appointed by presidential decree on March 15, 2016 as president of the national bilingualism commission. Senator Chief Tabe Tando of Manyu division had replaced him as CPDM Senate group leader recently.
