L’Oeil du Sahel, French-language tri-weekly tabloid, has published a list of Cameroonians whom it claims work for Boko Haram, the Nigeria-based  Islamic terrorist group.

In a Monday March 20 publication, L’Oeil du Sahel reveals identities of Nigerians with Cameroonian nationalities who live or had been living in Cameroon and working for Boko Haram since the extremist group extended its activities to Cameroon.

Among these individuals is Tasiu AKA Abou Zinnira. Aboubakar Shekau, announced ealier in February this year that he killed Tasiu who he claimed had betrayed the group.

Sources in Cameroon’s Far North region revealed to the local newspaper that Tasiu had lived among them in Cameroon since 2013, till the time of his disappearance. He was Boko Haram spokesperson, Cameraman and video editor, according to the sources.

As if to lend credence to Shekau’s claims, one of the sources told L’Oeil du Sahel that the supposedly deceased technician spoke too much. The source, according to L’Oeil du Sahel, said he was trained by the Al Shebab terror group in Somalia.

He is an indigene of the town of Bama in Nigeria. The newspaper said Tasiu was welcomed to live in Amchinde, Far North region because he claimed he was fleeing from Boko Haram attacks. He arrived Amchide with a certain Umate, another Nigeria from the town of Kerawa.

Ba’ana Tela alias Ba’ana Kossari, a tailor in Amchide is another Cameroonian cited among those who are working for Boko Haram. Like Tasiu, he is originally from Nigeria, from the town of Kossari. L’Oeil du Sahel says he was arrested in 2014 but later released among other Boko Haram affiliates when the government of Cameroon freed some terrorists in exchange for kidnapped priests in Tchere in May 2014.

Other Boko Haram members cited in L’Oeil du Sahel include Ba’ana Blachira, Ba’a Abba alias Ngomna,Toudjanima and Alhadji Mastawa.
