The former Vice-President of the Southwest Court of Appeal was released by his kidnappers on Wednesday morning under unknown circumstances.
Retired justice Justice Mbeng Martin was released in Afab, a village in th Manyu Division of the South West Region.
He was kidnapped in Ekwelle by unidentified gunmen in the early hours of Sunday while attending his mother’s funeral.
It is difficult to establish the circumstances leading to his release though media reports talk of a possible ransom being paid.
On the other side, the spokesman of the Cameroonian army told Radio France International on Tuesday that search operations was underway for the release of Justice Mbeng Martin.
This released Justice has been taken to the hospital for medical check ups.
