A key member of the main opposition party, the Social Democratic Front has decamped to the Cameroon Renaissance Movement with just two months left to the Presidential election.

Celestin Djamen, SDF Secretary for Human rights and key member of the party in the Littoral Region was presented to the press on Thursday at the headquarters of the Cameroon Renaissance movement in Yaounde.

Celestin Djamen who is also an SDF municipal councillor for the Douala I sub division says his decision to cross carpet is as a result of the determination, will and desire of the Chairman of the CRM Maurice Kamto which he believes are key in bringing change to Cameroon.

However, he did not give out much on his reasons for leaving the SDF but described his now former party as a sinking ship that has completely lost focus from its initial objectives.

Welcoming him into the Cameroon Renaissance Movement, the first Vice President Emmanuel Simh expressed his satisfaction at the party’s new catch but urged him to get to steam ahead of the Presidential election billed for October 7.
