Edith Kah Walla has lauded the intiative to organise the Anglophone General Conference in so far as it reflects a willingness to dialogue in order to contribute to a resolution of the deep crisis holding the North West and South West regions hostage.

Four religious leaders from the North West and South West Regions last week convened an Anglophone General Conference for the end of this month to seek way out of the current crisis.

However, the initiative has been heavily criticised by by various sections of the public including advocates of secession as well as a section of public officials.

In the midst of the criticism, support has still been incoming for the initiative with the latest coming from Kah Walla who believes “it is undoubtedly a beacon of hope for all who are thirsty for peace and a peaceful resolution of this dispute.”

“The CPP shares the urgent need to create conditions for a Dialogue. This means reaching a ceasefire, taking steps to ease the tension and starting the long road to justice, truth and reconciliation,” Kah Walla said.

“The CPP encourages the promoters of this dialogue to persevere despite the obstacles. Criticisms will be issued and they must be taken into account in order to succeed in this consultation. But they have to forge on with determination. Those who want peace have to be more courageous and determined than who by cynicism or despair feel at ease in chaos,” she added.
