According to the American Brigadier General William Prendergast “this military exercise will help enhance security and stability in the Gulf of Guinea”.

The exercises consist of initially in learning how to defuse improvised devices and how to deal with equipment in the field. It is also about understanding the evolution and mutations of terrorism and violent extremism.
