This is the outcome of fruitful relations between the Israeli embassy in Cameroon and the Roger Milla Foundation Cœur d’Afrique.

Through sports, children from the foundation demonstrated how peace, unity and national cohesion can be fostered in Cameroon through sports.

This was during a ceremony that held at the annex of the Yaounde Omnisports stadium on Tuesday to officially present the MIFALOT model (an Israeli model) as a tool to promote national cohesion through sports.

Addressing the public present, the Israeli ambassador to Cameroon, H.E Ran Gidor said his country wants to share experiences with Cameroon through the Cœur d’Afrique foundation so as to help reinforce social cohesion.

The country harbours thousands of Nigerian refugees from the North region as well as Central African in the East.  It is therefore the duty of both nations to use sports as a vector of peace and social cohesion in Cameroon, H. Ron Gidar said.

Tuesday’s event was a materialisation of a partnership between the Israeli embassy kand the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education who have been working together to use sports as a vector of peace in refugee camps and local communities.

The partnership has equally seen Cameroon soccer legend and Founder of Cœur d’Afrique Roger Milla visit Israel in 2017 where he held working sessions.

Yesterday’s event brought together over 50 youths from his foundation who displayed some values of national and social cohesion through some sports exercises.
