Cameroon could yet have its first independent candidate at the Presidential election scheduled on October 7 after Etonde Etonde declared he will run for the elections.
He made the declaration on Monday at a press conference on Monday in Douala where he declared he had assembled all the 300 signatures which are one of the pre-requisites to run challenge for the presidency.
“I am running as an independent candidate. I don’t represent any party and my life is identical to that of the ordinary Cameroonian. I want to represent the youth whoare in action on a daily basis. I want to use my audacity to serve Cameroonians. I want to be a president who can change the course of things at any time, even in the most complex situations ,” Etonde Etonde said.
Etonde Etonde who is in his mid 30s, says he will be dropping his file at Elecam before Thursday’s deadline and hopes to rally youths to support his bid to run for the presidency.
He also took the opportunity to outline a sixty-point project which he will develop throughout his campaigns while equally sharing his views on how to reform the country’s education, health, judicial, economy… just to name these few sectors.
