 The government of Cameroon says it plans to revamp it’s water sector, Camwater.

To set the project rolling, the Commission in charge of following up the closure of a learning contract signed between a Moroccan Consortium and the Cameroonian State for the production and distribution of 106 Urban and Periurban centres in Cameroon have met in Yaounde.

According to media reports, the meeting aimed at restructuring the Organigram of Camerounaise des Eaux ( CDE) and drawing up a financing plan to re-establish the Cameroon Water Utility Corporation (Camwater), follows a presidential instruction for a non- renewal of a 10 year contract allowing CDE to launch its activities on May 2nd 2008.

The three day meeting presided at by Basile Atangana Kuna, Minister of Water and Energy will allow the commission members to reestablish the sector within the August 15 th 2017 deadline authorised by the Head of Government.
