The Chairman of the Social Democratic Front Ni John Fru Ndi has called on the Head of State to open a frank and sincere dialogue to resolve the Anglophone crisis.

In an open letter addressed to Paul Biya on Sunday, Ni John Fru Ndi told the head of State to give special attention to the crisis in the two-English speaking regions so as to find a lasting solution to the problems.

« A sincere dialogue is not a sign of weakness, but an opportunity to start all over and build a strong and unified Cameroon, » Fru Ndi said.

According to the SDF chieftain, freeing all those arrested will be a good start towards the righ direction in dialogue.

« Nigeria was able to dialogue in order to heal its wounds of civil war, with General Ojukwu pardoned and reinstated, » Fru Ndi said.

« You were able to pardon Bello Bouba Maigari, Issa Tchiroma, Diakole Diassala amongst others following the abortive coup that almost had you killed.

The weekend was again restive in the two English-Speaking regions of the country with the abduction of another government official in Batibo while several persons lost their lives in seperate clashes and incidents in Njinikom, Munyengue and Boa Bakundu.

A situation which the Chairman has blamed on the military’s recklessness in handling the situation which has since escalated.

« The military response to this crisis, from its beginning till date, only made a bad situation worse. It is imperative that I draw your attention to the continuous atrocities that are being carried out in this part of our country.

« Villages are being ransacked, businesses heavily looted, extortion of huge sums of money and their livelihoods and houses razed down with no consideration to human life and dignity.

« Women are being raped, the youth are being targeted, and local grain barns from the hard work of farmers are being burnt to ashes.
