It is the engagement taken by french special envoy, Sylvain Itté as he met the president of the National Communication Council, NCC.
The French Ministry of Foreign affairs has sent one of its diplomats to Cameroon. His mission aims at strengthening the relationship between his country and Cameroon. Moreover, ameliorate France image as there is an increase in the anti french feeling in the nation.
Sylvain Itté, France public dIplomat on African issues started his work visit in Cameroon this week. In his agenda, he met Peter Mafany Musongeh, president of the Bilingualism and multiculturalism commission. He heads Cameroon’s National Communication Council, NCC.
Discussing with NCC president, Joseph Chebonkeng Kalabubse for over two hours. “It is normal that after meeting members of the Bilingualism and multiculturalism commission, I now encounter those of the Communication National Council. We are aiming at working hand in glove with the French embassy and other regulatory institutions in order to improve information’s quality. But, also endeavor in fighting the disinformation and manipulations” explains Sylvain Itté.

This objective of tackling misinformation will unfold itself around the training of journalists and other stakeholders working on the process of information.
