Cameroon international Fabrice Ondoua has joined Belgian Jupiler Pro League side KV Ostende, the club has announced.

The player joined the Belgian side on Tuesday from Spanish side Sevilla FC for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year old joins the Belgian side with a wealth of experience after being capped for his national side 35 times and winning the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017.

He will meet a familiar face at the club in technical director Hugo Broos who led Cameroon to that triumph in Gabon in 2017.

“Fabrice… is a goalkeeper on whom I relied heavily during the African Cup,” Hugo Broos said as the club unveiled the player.

“I was in Spain for around a garage when Mr. Broos phoned  to tell me that he was still in need of a goalkeeper, I wanted to join him immediately,” Fabrice Ondoua said.

“I know that the KV Ostende had Didier Ovono a very good and talented African goalkeeper. It is up to me to prove that I am a worthy successor. I will work hard to ensure this club becomes successful once again,” the goalkleeper said.
