The Abakwa boys recorded a one nil victory over Avion du Nkam on Wednesday in Bamenda to get their season up and running.

A 85-min goal from the  penalty spot by substitute Berryclain  Tangoacha Nkamabin was enough to seal victory for the PWD Bamenda who look forward to push for a top flight ticket this season.

In other encounters played on Wednesday in the opening round of the Elite II football season,  Canon of Yaounde overpowered the Ngaoundere University Football club by three goals to one while Racing of Bafoussam fell at home to AS Etoa Meki two nil.

Dynamo of Douala and Renaissance of Ngoumou played a goalless draw while most of the fixtures scheduled during this first week of the season were postponed.

In the Elite I, Astres of Douala and Eding Sport played a 1-1 draw while New Stars and Colombe separated went home goalless after 90 minutes.

Both matches were earlier postponed due to Eding and New Stars’ involvements in various continental assignments.
