ELECAM officials enhance capacity ahead of Cameroon’s Presidential polls

Officials of Cameroon’s Elections body, ELECAM, and other stakeholders in the electoral process, have been schooled on their different roles in the organisation and management of the October 7 Presidential polls.

The schooling which held in Yaounde, during a two day workshop organised by the International Organisation, La Francophonie, was aimed at enhancing the capacity of the elections management body, ELECAM, in the organisation of the polls and get the stakeholders in the electoral process master the roles.

Going by the organisers, the workshop falls within the framework of technical assistance that la francophone is providing to Cameroon to ensure the country organise a hitch free poll. To them, if ELECAM and other stakeholders master and play their roles well, a credible poll will be organised in October.

Meantime, Erik Essousse, Director General of Elections at ELECAM, has assured the public that the October 7 presidential elections will be free, fair and transparent.
