The Douala international airport will be renovated in the days ahead, the Director of the Douala ports authority Thomas Owona Assoumou has said.
The renovation work is the second phase of a two-phase project funded by a loan granted by the French Development Agency in 2015.
The first phase of the project was realised in 2016 with the aeronautical pavements all renovated. The passenger terminal will be renovated and rebranded during the upcoming renovation works.
The news comes after rumours of a possible closure of the Douala international airport for failing to meet international standards, information that was dismissed by airport authorities.
