The Minister of Decentralisation Georges Elanga Obam on Wednesday paid a working visit to Buea to take stock of the level of the decentralisation process in that locality.

Addressing stakeholders at the Buea councul hall, Georges Elanga Obam said he was in Buea to to get the realities on the field as well as supervise the projects under his ministry.

In response, the second deputy mayor of the Buea council, Lyonga John Efande called on all actors to keep focus work hard to accelerate the decentralisation process which will empower their local communities and speed up development.

The Buea council is the first visited by Georges Elanga Obam since he was appointed to head the newly-created Ministry of Decentralisation during the last cabinet shake up on March 2.

The Ministry of Decentralisation was split from that of Territorial Administration in the wake of the crisis in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon.
