About 60 terrorists, on Thursday, attempted an incursion into the village of Bole (12 km from Kafolo) in the far north of Cote d’Ivoire, without causing any casualties.According to corroborating sources, the terrorists attempted to intimidate the village chief of Bole and the youth president, whom they accuse of informing the Ivorian authorities of their movements in the area.

The Ivorian village of Bole, which houses a bridge, is a mandatory passage to reach Kafolo, one villager explains. Following actions by the Ivorian army, these terrorists retreated to Burkina Faso, the same sources told APA in an interview.

The town of Kafolo has recently been the target of attacks perpetrated against Ivorian soldiers by armed groups.

On March 29, two attacks were perpetrated against Ivorian army positions in Kafolo (Kong) and Tehini (Bouna), near the border with Burkina Faso, killing six people.

A first attack on the Ivorian army’s position in Kafolo in the far north of the country in June 2020 left around ten people dead among the Ivorian Armed Forces.
