The Constitutional Council will today examine the various petitions submitted by political parties after the 2018 Senatorial elections last weekend.

One of such petitions is from the Social Democratic Front requesting for the elections to be cancelled in the South West Region.

SDF list leader for the South West Region Prof.

Kofele Kale told a press conference last week at his Buea residence that the fact the elections did not hold in some divisions of the region or displaced to other areas was a violation of the voter’s right thus called for a fresh election.

There were also reported disputes in the North West Region where the CPDM was rumoured to be considering a petition at the Constitutional Council but backed out at the final moment.

The Constitutional Council will rule on the various petitions before as the results are expected to be announced by Monday in conformity to the law.
