Cameroon international Clinton Njie has vowed to fight wnd clear his name in the face of allegations levelled against him by the Cameroon Football Federation.
In a letter addressed to the Marseille strike which later leaked to the media, the Cameroon Football Federation accused Njie of reporting late in camp during their friendly against Burkina Faso as well as allegedly bringing up two girls with him in his hotel room.
However, the forward expressed surprise at the manner in which the matter has been handled publicly by Fecafoot.
“…I was surprised a few days ago to see a private correspondence intended for me, circulating on social media networks. As much as I am shocked by the approach, I am surprised by the content,”Njie said in a statement.
On the allegations levelled against him, the Indomitable Lions forward vowed to defend his career and honour, dismissing all claims.
“ …I will comply with the clarification requested before the appropriate authorities. My career and my honour are attacked. I will defend myself with the weapons of truth. I shared my room during the selection with Fai Collins,” the Olympic Marseilled forward said.
“We separated from our super- visors at the end of this grouping without any knowledge or questioning about any incident. I really hope it’s a misunderstanding or confusion. I’ll submit to the competent authority for all explanations required. Thank you. ”
The 25-year old reiterated his commitment to the team and desire to continue wearing and defending the national colours.
“Wearing the Indomitable Lions jersey is a privilege and an honour, a childhood dream come true. I hope to continue doing so with honour, pride and dignity as long as nature gives me the necessary strength and fortitude,”he said.
