Medics at the Mbingo Baptist hospital in the North West Region of Cameroon have confirmed a Catholic priest who was reportedly shot last week is responding to treating at the health facility.

Father Jude Tatah was reportedly caught on the leg by bullet in his vehicle following a cross fire between security forces and armed men in Njinikom, Boyo division of the North West Region.

He was rushed to a health facility in Njinikom for first aid before taken to the Mbingo Baptist hospital where his condition has since been stabilized.

Men of God have also paid the price of the crisis in the North West and South regions of Cameroon in recent weeks with a Catholic priest, Rev. Father Sob killed by stray bullet last weekend in Muyuka while returning from a family visit.

A Ghanaian pastor was also shot and killed in Batibo a week before while another pentecostal pastor was reportedly shot and killed infront of his church in Kumba. However, no body has claimed responsibility for any of these deaths with the military and separatist fighters pointing accusing fingers at each other.
