A Catholic priest and others were reportedly kidnapped on Saturday November 24 in Munyengue, Muyuka sub division of the South West region of Cameroon, sources have said.

Father Jude-Thaddeus Langeh Basebang, a Claretian Missionary was reportedly kidnapped alongside Deacon Placid Muntong and their driver as they were on their way to the parish.

They were on the mission to deliver relief and humanitarian assistance to persons affected as a resut of the ongoing conflict between security forces and ared separatist fighters in the region.

Their kidnap came just two days after the death of a Catholic priest of Kenyan origin, Father Cosmas Ondari who was caught by bullet on Wednesday November 21 as he was standing infront of his parish in Kembong, South West region of Cameroon.

The Kenyan government has since called for an investigation into his killing.
