A temporary bridge has been erected on the road linking Ndop and Bamali in the North West Region by Cameroon security forces.
The bridge is reported to have been destroyed over two days ago by unidentified men who used it as a tactics to cut off military reinforcement from reaching the area.
For the moment, the bridge erected can contain bikes and small vehicles but not heavy duty trucks but it is still not clear when the new bridge will be erected.
Other roads linking Bangolan in the Ngoketunjia division to the rest of the North West region was blocked while the Ndop-Bamenda axis was completely cut off.
Ndop and its environs have been the theatre of violent clashes between Cameroon’s security forces and separatist fighters in the past week leading to several persons dead.
