All is set for Paul Biya to be innaugrated as the President of Cameroon for another seven-year mandate in office.

The National Assembly where Paul Biya will be sworn in is set while guests arrive and the public lnes up along the road to welcome the President-elect.

The event will be taking place under heavy military presence around Yaounde to avert any disorder that may ensue. Thus the Central town is heavily militarised with gendarme and police officers stationed as well as water canons on spot.

At major junctions of the town, security is eually tightened while traffic had been temporarily halted as denizens go about on foot.

Up town at the esplanade of the Omnisports stadium where opposition party, the Cameroon Renaissance Movement is supposed to hold a rally, the scene is heavily militarised since Monday night.

On spot, there is a surveillance van of the national gendarmerie, an anti riot van and a swamp of gendarme and police officers littered around the area to prevent any disorder. It is thus not clear if any gathering of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement will take place.

Back at the National Assembly, Biya, 85, will take the oath of Office at 11am to embark on a new seven-year mandate that will extend his 36-year stay in power.
