At least eight persons suspected of trafficking drugs to schools in Yaounde have been arrested by element of the National Gendarmerie.
They were arrested on Thursday, 08 April 2021, at about 10 a.m. by elements of the Nlongkak Gendarmerie Brigade who first started by nabbing a student of the Government High School Mballa II who was in possession of a large quantity of narcotics for sale to his classmates.
The drug was supplied by a major drug dealer situated not far from the school.
The interrogation of the alleged dealer enabled gendarmes to carry out a swift operation in a home at the Mballa II neighbourhood, which not only happened to be a centre for drug trafficking but also a hiding spot for suspected criminals.
This operation led to the arrest of eight persons and the seizure of about 10 kilograms of cannabis, 05 grams of cocaine and several bladed weapons.
