The Divisional Officer, Thimothee Aboloa, the Mayor of the locality, Kenneth Nanji were killed when their vehicle hit a landmine on their way to the locality of Bekora, Ekondo Titi sub division.

The section President of the ruling CPDM party, William Ebeku, a soldier identifies as Akono, and the driver Stanley Meh who were all in the vehicle were equally killed.

The Divisional Officer of Ekondo Titi and his entourage were reportedly heading to the locality of Bekora for a contact tour when the incident occured.

The incident comes just few months after a teacher and four students were killed in Ekondo Titi last November following an attack attributed to armed separatist fighters in the locality.
