jThe General Assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association is taking place today in Douala, Littoral region with a new President set to be elected at the end of the session.

Reports say over 1000 lawyers are present at the venue in Bonapriso to elect their new leaders for a new term in office.

The President of the Bar General Assembly Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle already declared he will be stepping down and has been hailed for his decision.

He has equally been hailed for the single ballot system that he has put in place to conduct a free, fair and transparent election.

Prominent amongst the lawyers present are former Bar Presidents, Ben Muna, Yondo Black as well as human rights lawyer Felix Agbor Nkongho.
