Meeting in Bafoussam on Sunday December 30 to discuss the security situation prevailing in the Noun Division, the Social Democratic Front tasked the government to take necessary measures to arrest the crisis which they say has spilled over to other parts of the country.

Government sources have attributed last week’s attacks in Bangourain on separatist fighters and promised to bring the perpetrators to book.

But the SDF preferred to look at the global picture citing other security challenges and spill over of the war in Mbanga(Littoral region), Babadjou, Fongo- Tongo, Bangourain (West region). All these events leave an uncertain and calamitous outcome in the future if appropriate measures are not taken, the SDF said.

While showing their full support to the people affected by the conflict in these areas, the SDF once again called on the Head of State to release all detainees of the Anglophone crisis and create a favourable condition for return of those in exile.

The party also tasked the government to create a favourable environment and a way out of the conflict while also cautioning Cameroonians to shun all hate lnguage and tribalism propagated through the social media and other medium of communication.
