The head coach of the Indomitable Lions, Antonio Conce9aio has preselected 40 players for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The squad list submitted to the Cameroon Football Federation last weekend is made up of five goalkeepers, 14 defenders, eight midfielders and 13 forwards.
Head coach Toni Conceçaio called up first choice stopper, Andre Onana alongside Devis Epassy, Simon Omossola, Efala Komguep and Narcisse Nlend.
In defence, the big news is the call to Galatasaray defender, Boey Sacha alongside regulars Michael Ngadeu, Fai Collins, Harold Mokoudi, Nouhou Tolo, Olivier Mbaizo, Duplexe Tchamba, Dawa Joyskim and Jerome Onguene. Ebosse Enzo, Jean Claude Billong and Jean Charles Castelletto. Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo’s return to full match fitness means he is equally given a spot in the squad.
In midfield features regular names like Zambo Anguissa, Kunde Malong, Oum Gouet, Samuel Hongla, Lea Siliki, Onana Jean, Neyou Yvan and Arnaud Djoum are all in.
In the forward line, Karl Toko Ekambi, Vincent Aboubakar, Moumi Ngamaleu, Choupo Moting, Stephane Bahoken have all been called up. Russia-based Clinton Njie was also given a call as well as John Mary, Jeremy Ebobisse, Paul Georges Ntep, Ignatius Ganago and Leandre Tawamba.
The release of the list now puts more pressure on the players to perform better in order to make the cut.
Head coach Toni Concecaio is expected to trim down his squad before they begin camping ahead of the tournament which kicks off on January 9.
The Indomitable Lions are drawn in Group A alongside Burkina Faso, Cape Verde and Ethiopia.
