Vehicles of above 17tons have been temporarily banned from plying the National Road N°5 following the collapse of the Bandja-Bafang road in Bafoussam, West region of Cameroon.
The information is contained in a release issued Wednesday October 16 by the West Regional Delegate of Public Works.
In the release, the Public works authority calls on all vehicles above 17 tons to avoid plying the National Road N°5 at the level of PK 7+850 of the Bandja- Bafang crossroad following its collapse yesterday and instead go the Melong-Santchou- Dschang- Bafoussam way.
According to the release, the ban is applicable temporarily while waiting for the completion of works on the site or the arrangement of another passage.
On Wednesday October 16, 2019, a portion of the road linking Bafang and Banja towards Bafoussam in the west region of Cameroon collapsed, crippling circulation.
