Heavy rains that lashed Ndjonassi in Nyom, Centre region of Cameroon yesterday evening have carried away a seven year old boy and sent the mother who almost died in the course of trying to save the son’s life to the hospital.

Hours of unrelenting downpour in Ndjonassi, Centre region of Cameroon have claimed the life of a seven year old boy and sent the unconscious mother to the hospital.

According to sources journal du Cameroon met on the scene, the lad was with the mother at her work place on the road side in Ndjonassi when the rain began. In a bid to throw away some dirt, the child slipped and found himself in the gutter already filled with running waters.

The child’s shouts drew the attention of the mother who dived into the gutter but was unfortunately surprised by the fury of the waters which almost carried her way as well.

Thanks to the alertness of some bike riders who saw the hand of the lady screaming for help, she was brought out of the waters and taken to the hospital.

For now, the where about of the child’s body is still unknown.
