The corpses of three young men were discovered early Saturday morning at Foncha neighbourhood in Bamenda, capital of the North West region of Cameroon, residents have confirmed.

Residents say they got up to discover the corpses very early this morning but the circumstances surrounding their death are still unknown. Others say no violent incident has occured in the neighbourhood for the past days so it is possible the boys might have been killed in a different neighbourhood and later dumped in the area.

Abandone corpses have been frequent since the escalation of vionce in Cameroon’s English-speaking regions with civilians caught in the cross fire between security forces and separatist fighters.

Last month, the Director of the Bamenda Regional hospital called on the public to pass at the mortuary and identify abandoned corpses or the institution will hand them to the Bamenda City Council for burial.
