The Minister of Post and Telecommunications in Cameroon, Minette Libom Li Likeng has denied claims that plans were underway to deprive the Cameroonian population of internet from October 7 to 9.

Minister Libom in a press release issued today, said the rumours are sheer manipulations and fake news.

In the release, the Minister recalls President Biya’s firm commitment to implement a policy geared at developing far reaching digital digital ecosystem which complies with the country’s rules and regulations.

It would be recalled that the Minister had debunked the same rumours around the same period last year. But the escalating crisis October 1, 2017, had made the government reconsider it’s decision as denizens in English speaking Cameroon say they witnessed limited internet connections. It still unclear if the Presidential elections slated for October 7, will breed the same actions.
