In Cameroon, over 1000 people have died due to the deadly Coronavirus pandemic since the first case was recorded in March 2020.

According to statistics revealed by the Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda, as at Thursday April 29, the country counted 1,107 death cases due to the virus.

The rate of lethality according to the Health boss has however decreased.

When the country was hit by the second wave of the pandemic, about 50 death cases were recorded on weekly basis.

The number has dropped to less than 20 as Health officials say the country has reached the peak of this wave.

The Minister has encouraged Cameroonians to go in for the vaccines, indicating that prevention is better than cure.

Two weeks after the mass immunization campaign was launched, more than 20,000 have already been administered the vaccine voluntarily.
