Support staff in the various state universities have expressed gratitude to the Head of State for his recent decision instructing the application of a new salary scale for support staff.

The National Union of Support Staff of State Universities marched through the streets of Yaounde on Friday, February 12 with banners to thank the Head of State before heading to the Ministry of Higher Education where they handed the letter of thanks to the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo.

“We came here to extend our profound gratitude to the Head of State who has done a lot for us. We have had the Special Status, and he has just improved our condition with a new salary scale and to this we are very grateful,” Terence Ateh, President of the National Union of Support Staff of State Universities said.

On his part, the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education expressed delight at the support staff for their show of gratitude and urged them to continue to trust in the Head of State whom he said is determined to improve on their situation.

“The entire university community is very happy today because we remain one and indivisible and it is a privilege for us to transmit this message of gratitude to the Head of State,” Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo said.
