Cameroon and the African Union have struck a deal for the country to host three Pan-African Institutions.

The agreements were signed last weekend between Cameroon’s Minister of External Relations Lejeune Mbella Mbella and the AU Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology, Sarah Anyang Agbor.

The Pan African University (PAU) Institute for Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences; the African Monetary Fund (AMF); and the AU Sport Council will all by hosted in Cameroon’s capital Yaounde, the AU said.

The AU said in a statement that it had taken over ten years to take a decisions and over five to negotiate on agreements to host the institutions.

The statement did not however say when the institutions will effectively go operational.
