The Minister of sports and physical education Narcisse Mouelle Kombi last Friday April 5 assured Parliamentarians on the completion of sports infrastructures that will host the different matches and training sessions of African teams at the Afcon 2021 in Cameroon.
During the plenary sitting held at the National Assembly and presided over by House speaker Cavaye Yeguie Djibri, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi responded to the preoccupation of Hon. Paul Danata who wanted to know how far the Government has gone with the preparations.
For the six groups representing the teams, the Minister said at least one stadium will be made available for matches and two for training sessions.
As such, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi revealed the present state of sports infrastructures in Cameroon. According to him, the country can boost of 34 stadia, seven for matches and 27 for training sessions constructed in Yaounde, Douala, Limbe, Buea, Bafoussam and Garoua.
He outlined the stadia that are still on construction, reassuring parliamentarians on the fact that “participants at the AFCON 2021 shall be welcomed, housed, fed and transported.”
