At least six suspected separatist have been killed in Ndop, Ngoketunjia Division of the North West Region, the Cameroonian army has said.

The army said the men were killed on Friday during a raid on an area suspected to be the hideouts of the men before engaging in a shoot out.

The soldiers said they succeeded to destroy the camp and seized weapons and amunition from the camp while equally dismantling road blocks that had been erected by the men.

In a related development, the wife of the Fon of Baba I, still in the Ngoketunjia Division and her four children have been kidnapped by suspected armed men who are demanding a 10 million Francs CFA ransom.
