Gerard Ngala now looks to get a clean sweep in Nkambe at the upcoming Legislative elections in recognition to services he has rendered his community.
Hon. Cyprian Awudu Mbaya, Social Democratic Front party Member of Parliament for Donga Mantung Centre has announced he will not run for the February 9, 2020 Legislative elections due to persistent insecurity in the North West region of the country.
Hon Cyprian Awudu Mbaya made the declaration at a press conference he granted this Tuesday in Yaounde.
The Member of Parliament advanced the current situation in the North West region of Cameroon as the reason why he has decided not to go in for another term.
“Given that many local SDF party officials have either lost their lives, been framed or arrested, lost their family members, seen their homes and property burnt down or have been displaced by war…” Hon. Cyprian Awudu said.
However, political pundits say Honourable Awudu Mbaya is bowing out in the face of the growing popularity of business magnet Gerard Ngala who is now poised to become the next member of parliament for Donga Mantung centre.
Awudu Mbaya has not been seen around his constituency for the past two years as Ngala Gerard has frequently defied separatist threats to commune with his people.
Nkambe has braved the odds by frequently celebrating the Febraury 11 and May 20 thanks to the resilience of Gerard Ngala who has regularly pulled the crowd to see reason with the Republic.
Schools have been effective in Nkambe and the Donga Mantung in general thanks to the numerous campaigns carried out by Ngala Gerard.
In the face of all these, it would have been very difficult for another candidate to wrestle him even Awudu Mbaya who has spent over two decades as Member of Parliament. The honourable thing is to step aside for a man in whom the people fully identify themselves.
