The COVID-19 National Emergency Solidarity Fund received another boost at the weekend with contributions from two partners.

First, it was the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of South Korea in Cameroon who was received in audience by the Minister of Public Health. He came with a donation of kits worth FCFA 165.000.000 as part of South Korea’s contribution in the fight against the pandemic. Receiving the kits, the Minister of Public Health expressed gratitude to the government of South Korea and said the gesture is testament of the cooperation that exists between both nations as well as their resolve to put an end to the pandemic.

The next donor received in audience was Edward Zu, Central African Sub Regional Director of the Harbour Engineering Company Ltd, a Czech company based in Cameroon. The company donated kits worth over FCFA 30 million as they pledged their support to continue supporting government in the fight against the pandemic.

The equipment consists of face masks, rapid test kits, hand sanitisers, thermoflashes as well as other medical equipment. Donating the equipment, Edward Zu praised the resilience of the Ministry of Public Health in fighting against the pandemic adding that they remain committed in Cameroon’s fight against the pandemic.
