The former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, the Very Reverend Dr. Nyansako Ni Nku passed away at a hospital in Douala on Tuesday, April 27 after battling with illness, the PCC announced.

Announcing his death, the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, the Right Reverend Samuel Fonki described it as another sad day for Christians and called on them to pray for the repose of the soul of his predecessor.

The Very Reverend Dr. Nyansako Ni Nku served as Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon between 1999-2009.

After serving the church in all loyalty, he was raised to the prestigious position of President of the All African Conference of Churches, AACC, in 2003.

He was described by many Christians as a gentle, soft spoken but outspoken preacher who always stood on the side of truth the truth.

Since his death was announced, tributes have been pouring in across the board especially from pastors who had the grace to pass through his tutelage.

“As a very young seminarian in 2005, I looked up to your quiet and effective leadership style plus how we will rush to learn Homiletics (the art of preaching) from you every time you mounted the pulpit. Memories of you are profound,” one of his former students Reverend Mirabel Sirri Abongta said.

He is the latest Moderator to journey to the world beyond since the independence of the PCC in 1957, after Rev. Awasum, Rev Ngolle and Rev Kangsen.
