Cameroon’s Head of State Paul Biya has sent a sealed message to the Head of the Chadian Military Council, Mahamat Idriss Deby, son of late Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno ahead of the official funeral ceremony of the latter.

The message was handed over to Mahamat Idriss Deby by President Biya’s representative at the funeral ceremony, Joseph Beti Assomo, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defence.

Upon arrival in Chad’s capital city yesterday Thursday April 22, Jospeph Beti Assomo was granted an audience by Mahamat Idriss Deby during which he handed over the sealed message.

Apart from sharing boundaries, Cameroon and Chad share cultural and sociological links.

Both countries are actively involved in the fight against diverse security threats among others Boko Haram insurgency.

Experts hold the view that the death of Field marshal Idriss Deby Itno is a big loss for Central Africa.
