A group of opposition parties in Cameroon met at the weekend in Douala to brainstorm on ways to approach the next Legislative and Municipal elections in the country which could be held next year.

The meeting was hosted by Eboula Alain of the MDP with other parties in attendance like the PURS of Serge Espoir Matomba, UPC, represented by Habiba Issa, Manidem, and the FPD party that backed Akere Muna at the October 7 Presidential election.

“During the meeting, we set up a mechanism to enable us create a patform for opposition parties to present a single candidate against the CPDM in every constituency,” the spokesperson of the group Abel Elimbi Lobe said.

The group of partiess said their only hope is to build a credible platform that could bring together oppostion forces that will challenge and defeat the ruling CPDM at the next elections
