The Senior Divisional Officer of Fako, Emmanuel Ledoux Engamba has prohibited nocturnal activities in the division from December 15, 2021 to February 15, 2022.
The Senior Divisional Officer said the move has been taken to “guarantee the security of the population within this delicate period” and applies to all other social gatherings.
However, for important events like mariages and crusades, special authorisation must be taken from the divisional officers with assurances of security, the SDO said.
The decision to ban nocturnal activities comes after several explosions in Buea in the past weeks which has created panic within the population.
Security has been heightened in Buea which will host teams for the Africa Cup of Nations which starts on January 9, 2022.
