The newly appointed Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Health Professor Louis Richard Ndjock has been charged to give a fresh impetus in the fight against the COVID-19.
The challenge was laid to him by the Minister of Public Health Dr Malachie Manaouda on Friday, June 10 while installing him into his functions at the Banquet Hall of Cameroon Red Cross.
Until June 30 when a Presidential Decree appointed him Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Health, Prof. Louis Richard Ndjock was Director of the Laquintinie Hospital in Douala which has been active in managing COVID-19 cases.
An even bigger task awaits Prof Louis Richard Ndjock as he takes office as he will be involved in a broader coordination in the fight against the pandemic, the Minister of Public Health Dr Malachie Manaouda said.
The Minister said the COVID-19 is just the immediate problem and reminded the new Secretary General that the government of Cameroon is engaged in several fronts to ensure Cameroonians have proper access to health care and he will be crucial in realizing this dream.
On his part, the new man in charge thanked the Head of State for the confidence bestowed on him at such a crucial a crucial moment when the country is battling against the pandemic and promised to offer his expertise to ensure access to health care by all Cameroonians is assured.
