Three neighbourhoods in Buea, South West region of Cameroon have benefitted from a borehole clean water provided by the Non-Governmental Organisation NDES Foundation.
The said neighbourhoods are Malingo, Bomaka and Mile 18.
The donation took place last March 8, 2021.
It falls in line with the NGOs vision to empower and provide assistance to the underprivileged.
The donation is timely as access to portable water has become a necessity especially in this COVID-19 era where many succumb to the deadly pandemic due to inappropriate hygiene rules.
It is even timelier as the country joined the international community two weeks later to commemorate the World Water Day which raises awareness of the over 2 billion people living without access to the precious liquid.
“Water is LIFE yet so many people around the world live without access to clean water to meet their basic needs. We at NDES Foundation are proud to be part of the solution…” Representatives of the Foundation said during the donation ceremony.
The NDES Foundation was created in May 2019 with the objective to provide technical, medical and financial assistance to the underprivileged especially those in rural areas.
