The Human Rights Advocate has frowned at the Cameroonian military and called for their actions to be investigated.

According to Felix Agbor Nkongho, the Cameroonian military invaded, attacked and burned several hoyses in Mongo Doi, a small village located near Nguti in Koupé-Manengouba Division in the South West Region of Cameroon.

Eyele Edia, an elderly woman was burnt to death in her house, while she was asleep, Felix Agbor Nkongho said in a Facebook post.

« We have received reports of 6 others who died in their houses in the same village. Intentionally killing civilians and destroying civilian property constitute war crimes and this should be thoroughly investigated, » he lamented.

Access to most parts of the troubled English-speaking regions of Cameroon has been restricted to the media amid wide reports of gross human rights violations in the area.

« We call on the government to allow journalists and human rights organisations have access to these regions, » Agbor Nkongo said while condemning the killings and burning of civilian property by the Cameroonian military.
