Cameroon’s fight against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic has been enriched with anti-COVID-19 personal protective kits worth about FCFA 60 million offered by the international humanitarian Non-Governmental Organization, Mercy Ships.

The kits which include face masks were handed over to the Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda this Friday May 7 by representatives of the NGO.

Speaking to the press, one of the representatives said the donation is to reinforce the efforts the Government of Cameroon is putting in to protect its health workers and as such better fight the deadly pandemic.

Since the country recorded the first case of COVID-19 in March 2020, about ten of its health personnel have succumbed to the virus and many others tested positive before recovering.
