The Deputy Speaker at Cameroon’s National Assembly, Honorable Hilarion Etong has called on law makers to come up with a new agenda to fight corruption in Africa.

Honourable Hilarion Etong made the remark while opening a three day colloquium of the African Parliamentary network against corruption under theme; “Winning the fight against corruption, a sustainable path to Africa’s transformation, one of the key elements to ensure sustainable development for the continent”. The colloquium seeks to reinforce the spirit of togetherness, one to exchange notes.

The lawmakers were equally exhorted to elaborate a blue print for inclusive actions to win the fight against corruption which remains a threat to peace and security in the continent.
For his part, the President of the Cameroon chapter of the African Parliamentary network against Corruption Honorable Amadou Adji declared that the present sitting is an innovative perspective to check corruption. To him, such talks, will culminate to a multilateral framework for a common and efficient strategy to fight corruption.

It should be recalled that the African Parliamentary network against corruption is one of the broad based and institutional platforms put in place by governments to foster good governance and kick out corruption from the continent.
