The kidnapped President of the North West chapter of the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalist, Camasej, has been released.

He was released on Friday after spending hours in captivity in the hands of gunmen who took him away on Thursday at his Foncha street neighbourhood.

He was welcomed today at his residence by family members and friends who expressed delight at his release.

Ambe Macmillan Awa said he was not harmed physically by his captors but felt the psychological torture  and thanked all those who advocated for his release.

He equally used the opportunity to plead to those involved in the conflicts to respect the lives of journalist, medical personnel and education stakeholders.
