Opposition party leader, Maurice Kamto has described fallen former ally, Paul Eric Kingue as a politician with exceptional qualities who contributed in his own way to national resistance.

Prof Maurice Kamto made this declaration in a communique issued hours after the death of the National President of the Patriotic Movement for a New Cameroon and Mayor of Njombe-Penja was announced.

In the communique, Maurice Kamto qualifies the late Mayor of a passionate man who fought for the interest of the masses and contributed to national resistance in his own way.

He praises the exceptional qualities portrayed by Paul Eric Kingue during the 2018 Presidential election as his campaign Director.

Kamto equally recalls how his former ally’s determination to seek change after the election sent him to jail where he spent about nine months together with him (Kamto).

On behalf of sympathisers of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party to which Paul Eric Kingue one time belonged, Maurice Kamto has extended his heartfelt condolences to his family, sympathizers and the population of Njombe-Penja.

He has equally called on CRM sympathizers to respect the memory of the departed as well as the pain of the family and militants.

Paul Eric Kingue passed away in the early hours of Monday March 22 after suffering from a brief illness reported to be COVID-19.
